For most businesses and organizations, the web isn't a beauty pageant. Great aesthetic design is essential, that's well demonstrated, but design is much more than decorating a web page. It serves an essential function.

We see design as a tool to help shape the flow of communication so it can be better understood.

Visual design's role in a website is similar to the importance of nonverbal cues in face-to-face communication. While it can carry the bulk of the message, that message must always remain the priority.

It's for this reason that we don't begin the visual design process until we have a thorough understanding of a site's goals, content strategy and have established a design strategy from these as well. We also give a great deal of consideration to how we'll be using the custom content management system we'll be designing in the process of the project.
